Vanman Aeolus Labyrinth Series — Storm-Resistant Horizontal Roof Louvers
Construction & Materials
• Blade system: Special-profile blades at equal spacing form a double rain-proof structure; internal collectors route water to an integrated drainage/gutter system for fixed-direction discharge.
• Frame: Lightweight, corrosion-resistant aluminum with low-profile visual impact and high load capacity.
• Modularity: Single unit width ≤4000 mm, length extended as needed; cohesive appearance across multiple modules.
• Installation:
• Flush with roof: connects to internal drainage; optional steel grating on top to allow pedestrian access.
• Protruding install: rectangular or drum-shaped profiles to suit roof geometry.
Aeolus 300
Aeolus is a passive, labyrinth horizontal louver for large-volume roofs. It harnesses pressure and temperature differentials (stack effect) to provide natural ventilation without power, while its double rain-defense geometry and integrated drainage keep weather out. The modular design fits long roof runs on factories, warehouses, cooling-tower tops, and other high-load environments.

Key Benefits
Aerodynamic & Weather Test Data
• Air-flow coefficient: 0.51.
• Simulated storm (equipment horizontal; 13 m/s wind, 75 mm/h rainfall): airflow 2.5 m³/s, pressure drop <50 Pa, rainproof efficiency 100% (per BSRIA13030 test conditions and grading method).
• Structural limits: lateral wind >80 m/s; snow 500 kg/m².
• Free area: Aeolus300 ≈ 51% (300 mm blade height); Aeolus500 ≈ 60% (500 mm blade height).
Actual project performance varies with opening geometry, roof exposure, and surrounding aerodynamics; consult Vanman for projectspecific sizing.
Models at a Glance
• Aeolus300D / 500D (Motorized) — Adds a top opening/closing mechanism for linkage with
MEP and fire systems; electric or pneumatic actuation; can be closed via control box when
ventilation is not required. Max finished unit 2.2 m × 10 m (on-site 2.5 m × 10 m).

Options & Accessories
• Noise attenuators (150–1000 mm high), parallel to blades to preserve effective ventilation area.
• Top steel grating for maintenance walk-on access (flush installs).
• Integrated gutter/drain interfaces and flashing kits for roof transitions.
Typical Applications
Large industrial/commercial roofs where horizontal louvers must maintain airflow in severe weather: steel/aluminum plants, foundries, glass/welding shops, waste-to-energy, logistics halls, cooling towers, power plants, underground garages, airports, and public venues.
Resources for Architects & Contractors
• Submittals with plan/section details for flush and protruding installs, drainage schematics, and wind/snow checks.
• Acoustic layouts with attenuator sizing for target dB reductions (coolingtower retrofits).
