Vanman Famous System — Low-Profile Louvered Ventilator for Roof or Wall

Type A – With Glazing

• Type A (Glazed): PC / polycarbonate / glass options to deliver natural lighting and reduce artificial lighting energy.

• Provides natural light to indoor spaces

• Reduces reliance on artificial lighting
• Compatible with PC panel, polycarbonate, or laminated glass inserts

Type B – Without Glazing

Type A

• Type B (Non-glazed): optimized for areas where daylight is not required.

• Ideal for applications focused on smoke discharge and ventilation only

• Fully enclosed roof profile ensures complete weather resistance

Overview

Famous is a natural ventilation and smoke relief system that pairs high airflow efficiency with a clean, low-profile form factor. It installs on roofs or vertical walls, and is available either with glazing (Type A) for daylighting or without glazing (Type B) where lighting isn’t required. Electric or pneumatic actuation is supported, making Famous suitable for daily ventilation, over-heating relief, and emergency smoke extraction in industrial and commercial buildings. It is designed to meet internationally recognized requirements (EN 12101-2, VdS 2159).

Type B

Key Benefits

• Dual installation flexibility — roof or wall mounting with a compact silhouette that integrates cleanly with varied façades and rooflines.
• Ventilation + smoke relief in one — aerodynamically optimized form supports natural smoke exhaust and daily ventilation.
• Daylighting option — Type A accepts PC/polycarbonate/glass glazing; Type B is non-glazed for pure ventilation duty.
• Controls to suit the project — electric or pneumatic drives; easy tie-in to building controls for reliable operation.

Drives, Performance & Compliance

• Linear drive: 500–3000 N thrust; IP54 ingress protection; endurance tested to 10,000 double strokes at 1000 N rated load.
• Pneumatic cylinders: Ø32/50 mm, 6/8 mm joints; bi-directional design with safety locking to prevent unintended motion on pressure loss/over-pressure.
• Standards: designed to comply with EN 12101-2 and VdS 2159; fire testing per DIN 18232-3 (30-minute high-temperature test as specified).

Controls & Integration

• Electric or pneumatic actuation as standard.
• Compatible with BMS/life-safety signaling for smoke control strategies; supports manual switches and typical environmental sensors when specified.

Options & Accessories

• Thermally broken profile for improved thermal performance.
• Fall-protection safety net under opening zones.
• Mechanical self-locking device for additional stability.
• Wall louver rain cover and interface/curb customization for roof/wall transitions.

Typical Applications

• Industrial plants, logistics halls, and commercial roofs requiring reliable air vent louvers with an architectural, low-profile look.
• Wall-mounted louvered ventilator banks with optional rain covers where weathering exposure is significant.

Models at a Glance

FAQ

Q: What’s the difference between Famous Type A and Type B?
A: Type A includes glazing (PC/polycarbonate/glass) to add natural daylighting; Type B is non-glazed for ventilation/smoke relief only. Both share the same low-profile look and drive options.

Q: Can Famous be used as a wall-mounted weather louver with rain cover?
A: Yes. For vertical applications, specify the wall louver rain cover and appropriate flashing/drainage detailing to manage wind-driven rain.

Q: Is this suitable for “ceiling louver / ceiling louvers” applications?
A: “Ceiling louver” usually refers to interior grilles/diffusers. Famous is an exterior louvered ventilator for roof or wall. If you need interior return/supply, use HVAC ceiling diffusers; for building envelope ventilation and smoke relief, Famous is the correct choice. (Keyword clarification.)

Q: Which drive should I choose — electric or pneumatic?
A: Electric simplifies wiring and position feedback; pneumatic is preferred where plant air is available or for intrinsically safe strategies. Both integrate with life-safety/BMS signaling.
